about

"Julien comes home to a tornado warning, but he doesn’t live anyplace where tornadoes occur and he is most definitely home. So begins “The Unfortunate Occurrence of Memories Not Our Own Bleeding Through and the Hole That Fills Them”, the collaborative piece between the visual artist Randy Pool and musician Yves Malone for Pool’s short film of the same name from 2009.

Julien’s wife is already in hiding, tucked in the cave behind the house, mute with fear and braced for the carnage she is convinced is set to follow. As Julien hunkers quietly down beside her it becomes slowly apparent that the real threat may not lie in the growing winds outside, but in the minds of the couple themselves and the cave that comes to represent their joined subconscious."
